There are records made for the dancefloor, and others made because something needs to be said. MTY-016 Allo Mama Bobo, Lacchesi’s new album for Mama Told Ya, sits somewhere between the two. Across nine tracks, Lacchesi turns the album into a kind of private therapy session, moving between raw intensity, absurdity, anger and vulnerability. The club becomes the couch, the crowd becomes the mirror. Two collaborations with French techno icons Miss Kittin and Anetha punctuate the album, bringing different voices into this strange therapeutic circus.
